Terms

Last updated 20 September 2026

These terms cover buying and using FoldMyMac, a macOS menu-bar app. Buying the app means you accept them.

What you are buying

Your licence key and download link are emailed to you as soon as the payment goes through; the key is entered in the app once, on first launch. You are buying a licence to use FoldMyMac, not the software itself. One licence covers personal use by you, on one Mac at a time. Moving to a new Mac? Deactivate it in the app first, or write to support and we release it.

What the licence does not cover

Please do not resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app or your licence key, publish the key, or use one licence across an organisation. For team or company use, write to us and we will sort out a suitable licence.

Updates

The licence is a one-off payment with lifetime updates for the 1.x line — every 1.x release is included, with no subscription and no renewal. A future major version (2.0 and later) may be a separate paid upgrade. If that ever happens, it will be announced in advance and version 1.x will keep working.

Refunds

If FoldMyMac is not for you, write to info@foldmymac.com within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full. You do not need to give a reason and you do not need to justify it.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you also have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content within 14 days. Because the app is delivered immediately, you are asked at checkout to agree that supply begins at once and to acknowledge that you thereby lose that statutory withdrawal right. Our own 14-day refund promise above applies regardless, so you are no worse off.

Requirements and compatibility

FoldMyMac requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later and an Apple silicon MacBook with a readable lid-angle sensor. Some models do not expose that sensor and cannot track the lid automatically; the requirements and the known exceptions are listed on the home page. Please check them before buying. If the app turns out not to work on your Mac, the refund promise above covers you.

No warranty, and limits

FoldMyMac is provided “as is”. We cannot promise it will be free of defects or run uninterrupted on every configuration. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

Price and taxes

Prices are shown in euro. Applicable VAT or sales tax is calculated and shown by Stripe at checkout, based on your country. Launch pricing is temporary and may end at any time; a licence bought at the launch price stays valid on these terms.

Changes and contact

These terms may change for future purchases; the version in force when you bought is the one that applies to your licence. Questions: info@foldmymac.com.
